 The
quickest and most comfortable of getting around Venice has to be the taxi.
 This
service is carried out by motorboats at the mooring points that can be found in
the areas most frequented by tourists (Piazzale Roma, Ferrovia, Rialto, S.Marco)
or by telephoning.
The rates are rather high (approx. 80.000 lire/41.5 euro for the stretch P.le
Roma-S.Marco) but it is advisable to check the price each time.
 Beware
of illegal taxi drivers: they are unreliable and can cause unpleasant surprises.
Always make sure that the lateral windows of the motorboat have the yellow sticker
with the registration number assigned by Venice Town Hall.
