PROCURATIE NUOVE Can be seen on the long side of Piazza S.Marco on the side of the bell tower. Construction began under Vincenzo Scamozzi towards the end of the XVI cent. after the demolition of the pre-existing buildings and ended in1640 with ad opera di Baldassarre Longhena. As in the case of the Procuratie Vecchie -built earlier - they take their name from the magistracy of the Republic and originally had their apartments in this building. After the fall of the Republica they became the Royal Palace of Napoleon. They now house the Museo Correr and the Museo Archeologico and both can be entered by the entrance in the Ala Napoleonica.
