This is probably the easiest way to get to Piazza S.Marco but it is also the
longest.
Once you have arrived at Piazzale Roma go towards the Canal Grande (1) and follow
it by walking along Fondamenta della Croce and then Fondamenta S.Simeon Piccolo
until you reach Ponte degli Scalzi (or della Stazione).
As soon as you have crossed this bridge turn right (2) and walk along Lista
di Spagna which will bring you to Campo S.Geremia and Ponte
delle Guglie.
From here you go straight on (3) along Rio Terà S.Leonardo, keep
to the right for Campiello and the ponte dell'Anconetta until you come to Rio
Terà della Maddalena (5).
Cross another bridge and you come to Strada Nuova after having passed
campo S.Fosca with the statue of Paolo Sarpi.
From here you continue to go straight on and once you have crossed Campo
S.Felice, (6) the Strada Nuova opens into campo Santi Apostoli.
You now have to turn right, cross the bridge and turn left, passing through
the portico; then turn right into Calle Dolfin, Campiello Selvatico and Campiello
Corner where you have to cross the bridge you see to your right.
Keep on going straight on along all the Salizzada S.Giovanni Grisostomo (with
its homonymous church), Ponte dell'Olio (7), and the
Salizada del Fontego dei Tedeschi until you come to
Campo S.Bartolomeo (8) with the monument of Carlo Goldoni.
Continue straight on for another stretch along via 2 aprile and then before
you come to campo S.Salvador (with its homonymous church),
turn left into Mercerie S.Salvador.

Keep going in this direction until you reach Ponte dei Bareteri (13)
and then mercerie S.Zulian (13) and the homonymous campo (with annexed
church).
You are almost there and all streets lead to S.Marco but turn right and then
left into Mercerie dell'Orologio (14) so you walk under the Torre
dell'Orologio (Clock Tower) and have arrived in PIAZZA
S.MARCO (15) with a beautiful view.
You have finally made it.
