FESTA DI S.PIETRO DI CASTELLO

 The
celebrations of the feast day of Saint Peter are relatively unknown
outside the city - and it is probably owing to this that it is one
of the most characteristic celebrations. The most important day
is 29th June, the feast day of the Saints Peter and Paul.
Celebrations take place in the last grass-covered square in Venice
in front of the ex-cathedral of Venice (la chiesa
di S.Pietro di Castello) with a market, stalls and typically
Venetian food.
There are performances and games, thus offering the perfect occasion
to visit one of the lesser known areas of the city.
