[Map of the new airport road network]

l'uscita arriviThe international airport "Marco Polo" is connected to direct flights to all major cities in Italy and Europe (see list).
It offers various facilities inside (see map): apart from ticket sales, shops, duty-free shop and bars, there are bank tellers, a post-office, VIP rooms and conference rooms (against payment) and of course, a first-aid centre. In the arrivals area there are also numerous car-rent firms, left-luggage and foreign-exchange, tourist information and hotel reservation as well as ticket offices for public transport

There are various possibilities to reach the historic city centre:

- Road taxis: it takes 15 minutes to get to Piazzale Roma, the price is around 45.000 lire/23.5 euro (radiotaxi tel.+39-041-936222). The taxi rank is outside the arrivals area;

- Water taxis: it takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the historic city centre. The price is around 100.000 lire;

- Bus ATVO: a direct connection from the airport to Piazzale Roma that takes about 20 minutes; buses leave every half hour. Buses run from 8.50 (8.30 on Sundays and public holidays) to 23.40. The ticket costs 5.000 lire/2.60 euro and includes luggage. The buses leave outside the arrivals area on the right.
Note: ATVO buses are blue.

- Bus ACTV: is a public transport bus (number 5) and therefore makes numerous stops before reaching Piazzale Roma.(It takes approximately half an hour). The ticket costs 1.500 lire/0.77 euro but does not include luggage. Each suitcase needs a ticket (the same price as for passengers). The buses leave outside the arrivals area immediately to the right.
Note: ACTV buses are orange..

il pontile di ormeggio- ACTV Boats: the Alilaguna 1 line goes from 6.15 to 00.05 and stops at Murano (30'), Lido (55'), Arsenale (1h.05'), S.Marco (1h.10') and the Zattere (1h.20');
the Alilaguna 2 line starts at 11.35 and the last boat is at 16.35. It stops at Fondamente Nuove (30') and at S.Marco (58').
Both lines leave each hour.
The mooring stage is to the right of the arrivals area.
These lines are very convenient for whoever is going directly to the Lido or the area of S.Marco.

[LINK TO FARES]

If you have to go to the beaches of Jesolo coast (Jesolo - Cavallino - Ca' Vio - Ca' Ballarin - Punta Sabbioni) can use ATVO buses departing every hour to Jesolo-Lido. Then you can change bus to your final destination. The fare ticket is about 3-4 Euro.
[see blue+ white path on the map]

A longer, more expensive but much more charming alternative is the following:
1) Linea Alilaguna to Lido di Venezia (9.81 Euro) via Venice lagoon - 58' [yellow path]
2) at Lido change to Punta Sabbioni with ACTV boat (3.10 Euro): you can buy the ticket at Lido. - 27' [orange path]
3) at Punta Sabbioni change with ATVO bus (they wait the boat) (2-3 Euro): you can buy the ticket at Punta Sabbioni before getting into the bus - 5 to 25 minuts variable by your destinationi [white path].

You have to consider that during summer Saturdays and Sundays the road from airport to Jesolo is full of car coming from Mestre and Treviso directed to the beach so that you can even spend on the bus 2 hours to get to Jesolo.
